A Five-star Rated Masterpiece for the Generation of Tinder and Cyber Love!
Falk Richter, the most important playwright and director in modern German theater, and Anouk van Dijk, Chunky Move's new artistic director since 2012—the two stars in modern theater—jointly create Complexity of Belonging for the generation of cyber love. The story begins with an artist working in a foreign land and the expats she encounters. Nine characters in different contexts all encounter the same question: “How and where do I belong?” Conflicts involving nationality, gender, sexuality and history occur one after the other. In the era of globalization, how are they going to fight in their daily life for their own survival? Complexity of Belonging is dedicated to our hyper-connected yet hyper-sensitive era, and explores the self-identity with daring humor. A perfect combination of text, dance and music, Complexity of Belonging is a masterpiece of contemporary theater, created by the contemporary for the contemporary! It is acclaimed by Time Out as a “pulsating and often heartrending choreography by Anouk Van Dijk”!
