Lost amidst the pitch-black battlefield, trapped in the stifling yet chilly planes, the standard-bearer and gong player engage in discussion about war and family. Their competition against each other progress from astronomy to geography, from fortunes to miseries. At the end of their wait, a group of ravens arrive to clear up the battlefield. Letters to family fall from the bodies, becoming readily available stories. Their mentality changes as well from loss, grief, curiosity to a drive to move forward.
