The Unique NTCH

Within architecture featuring the characteristics of traditional Chinese palaces, the NTCH possesses four performance venues of international level, installed with professional facilities such as stage, lighting, and audio equipments, satisfying the diverse needs of cultural and art groups as well as artists, so that the most befitting platform can be found for vast orchestras and solitary monologues alike.

For more than 20 years, hundreds of international virtuosos and performing groups have casted their brilliance mounting the stages of the NTCH. The Three Tenors Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, and José Carreras, as well as cellist Yo-Yo Ma have all frequented the NTCH. Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmoniker, maestro conductors Mariss Jansons, Lorin Maazel, Seiji Ozawa, Giuseppe Sinopoli have also left their marks here. Take the opportunity now to participate in history, and enjoy the delights of meeting the maestros of art.

Inside the NTCH buildings, creations of many Taiwanese artists have been put on display, by which you can put to test your eye for art and see if you can spot them: the very first fresco in Taiwan Joy to the World, composed by painter Ching-jung Chen and his team of students; the characteristic calligraphy works created by Yang-tze Tong’s combination of traditional calligraphy and aesthetics; the brass sculptures of the late master sculptor Mr. Ying-fong Yang, with themes of music and artifacts of past times and reconstructing their musical and leisure-life atmospheres; and the most local, modern green-thinking interior green walls Green Symphony and Butterfly Dance, designed with the ecological, artistic fashions of French artist Patrick Blanc.
